How to become irresistible attractive

June 21st, 2019|

How cool would it be if we could attract fabulous people, amazing work opportunities, all the money we want and perfect health into our lives?

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be one of those rare people others find irresistible attractive and are drawn to like bees to honey? Things just come easy to them. And I’m not talking about looks or money or fame. I’m talking about a powerful attractiveness that comes from within.

There are people who look beautiful, yet can be unappealing. Then there are people who are less physically attractive, yet have a magic pull. What is […]

Trauma of child abuse

March 12th, 2019|

Watching the documentary on Michael Jackson is a reminder of the full extent of trauma that comes with being molested as a child.

The shame, the guilt, the blame, the fear, the powerlessness, the isolation, the loneliness, the confusion that goes on inside a child’s mind have a tremendous impact on their life and their future.

Victims might feel guilty about not having been able to stop the abuse or tell someone about it.

Many victims will never be able to tell anyone what happened to them. They bottle up their feelings and try to hide them deep down.

In many cases, the abusers are the very people that […]

The rest of your life….just ok, or memorable?

November 12th, 2018|

I feel sad when I think of my uncles passing. The saddest part is that he didn’t lead a memorable life. He did shift work in a steel company his whole life and when he retired he got sick and spend his last years sitting at home waiting to die.
And he is not alone, so many people live like that. They work hard all their lives – they dream of a better future, which always seems just a little bit out of reach – then they retire, get sick and die before they ever had the chance to do the things […]

Stop pretending

October 26th, 2018|

You feel empty, hopeless, trapped and can’t see a way out, yet nobody would even notice something is wrong because you are pretty good at pretending. Does that sound familiar?
You are not alone – it seems we have an epidemic of “pretenders”. The mask goes on when you are interacting with others. It’s common for people to show themselves from their best side at work or when meeting friends or even strangers. But what goes on deep down can be an entirely different story.
I hear it from my clients on a regular basis. One of my female clients recently told me she feels […]

In persuit of happiness

October 25th, 2018|

Happiness – for many, it remains an elusive thing. It’s something that seems to be always just around the corner. We tell ourselves that we’ll be happy once we land this new job. Or when we finally go on holiday. Or when we get a pay rise, or settle in our new home, etc.

Or maybe we’ll be happier with this new pair of shoes? Some people certainly seem to think so. They fill their lives with stuff… new clothes, designer labels and of course accessories to go with it all. Bigger cars, nicer houses, better furniture, the latest iPhones, huge TV’s. The kids get decked out in prestigious clothes pretty […]

How to strengthen your ‘self’

October 24th, 2018|

Humans are complex creatures. Some of us are strong, others are weak and the rest is somewhere in between. Even the strongest have moments of weaknesses and the weakest can step up and surprise everyone around them.

How we handle life comes down to our personal foundation. Everything we’ve experienced in life so far has influenced the core of our being. The way we were bullied at school, negative comments from our parents, failures to achieve – all this and much more has impacted our foundation. Things that happened many years ago, can still affect us today.

Just like a house must […]

You don’t choose a life; You live one.

March 29th, 2014|

Last night we watched the movie The Way which tells the story of an American doctor who goes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son, who had been killed while hiking the famed pilgrimage route across Europe known as the Camino de Santiago. Rather than return home, the doctor decides to follow in his son’s footsteps and finish his journey. Through a variety of unexpected experiences along the way, he discovers the differences between “the life we live and the life we choose,” in the words of one of the characters in the film.

The Way  was filmed entirely in […]
